Versus: Lime green

Versus is back. NEW AND IMPROVED!!! (or so I hope you all think)

Today's versus is LIME GREEN!

In my collection I have three lime greens. In the bottles,  they even look the same,  but how do they compare of your nails, formula, and brushes. Funny story, I had the bottles on the kitchen counter about to take them outside to photograph, and my cousin asked me why I had three of the same color out. This is how close they look in the bottle at first glance.

Today's battle is between Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Limestone, Pure Ice Wild Think,  and OPI Did It On 'Em.

from L to R Sally Hansen Limestone, Pure Ice Wild Thing,  and OPI Did It On 'Em
As I stated before,  they look every similar in the bottle, but once you start painting them, you start to notice a difference. These are all creme polishes.

Here is what they look like on the nail. To even it out, I did three coats of each polish even if it didn't need another or needed another. I stuck with three coats.

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Limestone.

Out of the three polishes, this is the darker of the three,  as you can tell from the picture. This polish was the easiest to put on for me. It was completely opague by the second coat, and didn't need the third coat.

The brush is a skinny brush, and makes it easier to work in the corners.  Since I hadn't really been working with the skinny brushes that much here lately, I found the brush troublesome. I had been working with brushes like Wet n Wild Megalast.  You may like this type of brush, but I have gotten out of rountinue using this brush.

This polish is still available to buy. I googled it, and you can still get it off Walmart.com.

This would not be the first limegreen I would reach for out of my collection.

Pure Ice Wild Thing.

Out of the three polishes, I have had this polish the longest. I have had this  polish going on five or more years. With this being said, it's also time to replace it. This did take three coats to get the streaks out, but it was opague after 2. This has a lot to do with the age because when I used it before it only took two coats.  First of all, how can I tell it needs to be replace? It's stringy and thick.  With all that being said, in my opinion, this is the truest lime green.

The brush is very similar to the Sally Hansen Brush, but this one is a little bit bigger. The stem of the brush isn't as long, but it's also a smaller bottle. I liked this brush a little bit more than the Sally Hansen one.

This can still be purchased at Walmart.

OPI Did It On 'Em

This is from the Nicki Minaj collection. It was a limited edition shade, but you still may be able to find it off ebay or amazon. Out of the three, this is more yellow than the others. In the bottle, it looks more like Limestone, but it's not. This polish also needed one more coat for me. I could still see my nail line after three coats. Also I did not like the color with my skin tone.

I love OPI, but I hate this brush. I hate their minis. One reason I love OPI is because of their brush. This was my first mini I bought from OPI, and I will not be buying anymore, unless I really want the color and it's all they have. The stem is too small. I find it is harder to control this way. Who else doesn't like OPI mini bottles? Or am I the only one.

The winner of this VERSUS is : PURE ICE WILD THING
The color of the polish is the reason it won. I like it a lot better with my skin tone than the other two. All the negatives I had about this polish can be handled by purchasing a new bottle.

Personal Points
  • I am trying something new. I noticed the other day I can schedule when a blog post will post. Since I am going to be busy today and tomorrow, I am going to set a couple of blog post to post at different times. This one I will set to post at noon today. I will try and come back and check to see if it post tonight. Let me know if it works.
  • If this works, hopefully it will keep me on a schedule to post three a week. Right now I am posting more than that because I am trying to catch up from being gone for so long.
 Peaceful and Happy Thoughts,
--Rue.
