Look 1:
This is a very simple look. I have recently started liking to do an accent nail on both my ring finger and my thumb. The thumb isn't pictured because at work last weekend I ripped the nail off, and since the move I hadn't been able to find my file, so I couldn't fix it. I now have it fixed though.
The polishes I used:
Blue--Sinful Colors Endless Blue. (2 coats)
Red-- Wet n Wild Wild Shine Red Red (2 coats)
NO TOP COAT
Look 2:
In this looked I just jazzed look 1 up. It was too plain for me. On Tuesday, I bought new nail art stripier while I was at my local grocery store (Nail art by Diamond Cosmetics).I bought a blue glitter and a red. I am unsure where else you can get this brand. I planning a versus between this brand and Sinful Colors.
The plan was to do a blue glitter stripe on the red nail and a red stripe on the blue nails. As you can see this didn't happen. The reason? The red stripier was messed up, and I am going to either return it or see if I can fix it (which I believe I can). With that plan out the door, I still wanted to use the blue glitter. I did one stripe of the blue glitter and you really couldn't tell, so I used the nail art stripier as a regular polish. I couldn't leave all the blue nails with out any love so I put three stars on my middle finger.
Another shocker--- pic of my right hand. This was difficult to take with my camera, and its the main reason my left hand is always shown (an easier pic).
Polishes I used:
Blue--Sinful Colors Endless Blue. (2 coats)
Red-- Wet n Wild Wild Shine Red Red (2 coats)
Accent Blue Glitter-- Nail Art by Diamond Cosmetics in Blue Glitter (2 coats)
Stars on the Blue nail--- Wet n Wild Fergie Hollywood Walk of Fame (I fished three stars out of the polish)
Top Coat---Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus (1 coat)
Look 3--- TUTORIAL
This nail look has been in the planning stage for weeks. Last year, I didn't get to do a fourth of July manicure, so I am bring you one this year.
Things you will need:
White Nail Polish--I used Spoiled by Wet n Wild Correction Tape
Red Nail Polish-- I used Wet n Wild Wild Shine Red Red
Blue Nail Polish-- I used Sinful Colors Endless Blue
Red Crackle Polish-- I used Pure Ice Showstopper
Star Polish--- I used Revlon Top Speed Celestial FX
White Stripier--- I used Sinful Colors Nail Art in Bad Chick
Sponge or a nail art brush---I used a brush.
Something to clean up your manicure--- I used a thin nail art brush, q tips, and acetone
Base Coat to keep the red and blue from staining your nails.---I didn't use one, but with the Red and Blue I used I have found they didn't stain my nails.
Quick Drying Spray or Drops-- I used Onyx Professional 321 Dry
Top Coat--- I used Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus
Something to place your star glitter on your nail--- I used and orange stick.
Some scrap paper.
First you want to make sure you have clean nails.
Then paint your pointer, middle, and ring fingers with your white nail polish. Paint your pinkie with the blue, and your thumb with the red. I then sprayed my quick drying spray because I have found it works better to use between coats. Do what ever is more comfortable for you.
After your first coat is dried, go in with a second coat. I only did two coats with my blue, red, and the white on my ring and pointer finger. I did a third coat of white on my middle finger because it wasn't going to be covered up, and I didn't like how it looked with just two. Depending on the polishes you use, you may or may not need a second or third coat.
Now you have your base coats and are dried, you can start with the nail art.
Pointer Finger--
You will need the nail art brush or sponge, the blue nail polish, and a scrap piece of paper.
First, I take some of the blue nail polish, and put it on the paper.
Then, I take my brush, and dip it in the polish, and on the paper I get rid of the access.
I use my brush and tap on the polish to my nail. It should look like you did it with a sponge, with white showing through. I use a brush because I like more of the white to show through, and it's less clean up on the nail.
Top it with your top coat
Middle and Pinkie Finger---
You will need the star glitter and something to place your star glitter in place.
On your scrap piece of paper take you star glitter and paint the paper. You can skip this if you do not care where your stars end up or if you have a pure star glitter. The glitter I used from Revlon had crescent moon and diamond shape glitter as well.
On my middle finger, I place three stars on my finger and with my pinkie, I placed two. You can place more or less.
Top it with your top coat
Ring Finger---
You will need your red crackle polish.
Paint your nail with the red crackle polish, and then top with a top coat once dried.
Thumb---
You will need you stripier.
I placed three white horizontal stripes on my thumb, but you can place more or less if you like. Top with a top coat. Let the stripes dry completely, or you may get them smeared when you place your top coat. . I had to redo my thumb because of these.
This is my scrap piece of paper. Maybe you can see how I did the blue a little better.
If you have any questions let me know and I will try and answer them.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy fourth of July.
Happy Birthday America!
Personal Points
- We now have a small creek running behind out back yard because it has been raining ALL day. It's suppose to rain all day tomorrow as well.
- My room is slowly coming together.
- I am burning a candle for the first time since I moved. Burning MainStays Island Luau (from Wal-Mart). I love this scent. Hopefully they still have some since I only bought one of the small ones.
- Staying home and cleaning for the fourth. We may cookout Friday, and if they are not cancelled got see the fireworks tomorrow night. What are you all doing for the Fourth?
Peaceful and Happy Thoughts
