In my April Favorites, I mentioned my new water bottle. (pictured below). Well, the other day, I left lemonade in it over night, and it left a residue in the bottom of the bottle. I could not get it to come out with my sponge, nor when I let it soak for 12 hours plus, it still did not come out. I spend too much on this bottle for it to look dirty. So I took to the internet to research cleaning methods. I modified some of what I found. If you Google how to get residue out of your water bottle, you will get many methods. Here is what I did to clean my bottle.
I took sea salt. I put enough in the bottle to cover the bottom of the bottle. You must use sea salt, and it must be coarse. Fine Sea Salt will not be abrasive enough to get it clean. After you add the sea salt, add some ice. This will make it more abrasive. You then want to shake the bottle in a circle motion from anywhere to 3 to 5 minutes. You will be able to tell when the residue is completely gone. Once it is gone, wash your bottle like you would any other time. Peaceful and Happy thoughts,
--Rue.
