Rue's Nails of the Week.

Sorry that I didn't get this up on Friday or Monday, but I have been working on getting some things straightened up. Here are the looks from Sept 14- Sept. 23.

Look One: butter LONDON blowing Raspberries

This is the second bL polishes I own, and I really like it.

Two coats of bL blowing raspberries. with Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus

Swatch
Look Two: Essence Date in the Moonlight.
This is a beautiful color. It's a greyish\navy blue with blue shimmer.

Two coats of date in the moonlight with Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus

Swatch
Look three: China Glaze Smoke and Ashes.

This is from the Hunger Games collection. When the collection came out, this was the only polish that I wanted in the collection, but by the time I went to find it all the normal size was sold out. I ended up buying the collection samples, which I am glad. (see below). This is a black base with green shimmer.
This one doesn't have a swatch on paper because I couldn't get it to come out right.
Two coats of smoke and ashes. Topped with Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus
Look Four: Essie Power Clutch and Infatuation

This is my one last pop of summer. It's a mix between fall and summer. TRANSITION.

Two coats of Essie Power Clutch (grey) and two coats of Infatuation (pink)

swatches

swatch
 Look Five: China Glaze Argo.

This is also from the hunger games collection. I did not think that I would not like this color at all. I really love this color. It's a green with gold in it.

two coats of argo and topped with sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus.

Bath and Body Works Sale.

Bath and Body Works have their 2 for $20 sale on their three wick candles. I am not sure if it's at all the stores, but it's on line. ONLY FOR A LIMITED OF TIME!!! It ends on September 23.  So if you like the three wick candles, go pick you up some.

Also if you go and get a receipt with a survey on it, take it. You get $10 off of $30 purchase. I did it online, and it didn't take me more than 5 minutes to do it. 5 minutes for $10 off worth it.

Peaceful and Happy thoughts,
--Rue.

Versus- Essence Colour and Go.

Essence had changed their bottles, but that wasn't the only thing that was changed. First you can find essence at Ulta. Now, it cost 1.99.

The pink one is the older one. The navy blue is the newer one. As you can see they have changed the type of the bottle they use. I think that the new bottle is pretty. It's curvy.

They also changed the brushed. The new brush is bigger. They changed it more to the brushed that most polishes now are going to, a brush that you can do a manicure in a couple of swipes.
This is one stroke. Showing the change of the brush.
I have not used the old formula, but I really like the new one. I will post it once I use it.

Personal Points
  •  Obviously, I cannot post everyday of the week. I have tried and tried. Here is a new goal--I will try and get three post a week. I am going to try and post Versus on Wednesday and Rue's look of the week on Friday.  This Friday, I might post it on Monday because Friday is a busy day. Monday's will be for free. I will do more of beauty related stuff on Mondays. If there is anything else I will post it whenever.
  • Also I will try and tell you all when I find a sale.
  • My sister (Best Friend), Kyla, will be in Tennessee on Saturday. I hope that I get off work to be able to see her. I have not seen her since January of 2011. It's been way too long. She moved to NY, and is coming to TN to just see me.
  • While cooking the other day I burnt my wrist on the 450 degree oven.
  • Hoping to get my desktop computer plugged up soon, where I can start blogging on there.
Coming Soon
  • Rue's look of the week.

Rue's Weekly Nail Looks.

Ok, I have not posted one of these in a while. It seems the past few Fridays I have been super busy. This morning Lily is wide awake, and we're normally not up this early. To be completely honest this is two weeks worth of looks. I have only painted my nails once this week. I am going to paint them later today.

Look 1:
This look I used Zoya Codie and the chunky gold glitter from Sally's brand sally's girl. This was inspired for my cousin. His first home football games was a couple of weeks ago, and his school colors are brown and gold. I love this Zoya polish. This is the only color I have, but I plan on buying some more.

Two coats of Zoya's Codie and one coat of the glitter on my ring finger

 Look 2:
This look was for PCOS awareness month. September is PCOS awareness month. The ribbon for PCOS is teal blue. Personal note-- Several members of my family and myself have PCOS. Some of the symtopms are facial hair and weight gain, along with many more. I was diagnosised when I was a teenager. It was hard, especially when I did not know what in the world was going on with my body. But also it was hard because I was a teenager with facial hair (this was one of the symtopms that effected me the most). I had to go every month or sooner to get my face waxed. I had more facial hair on my chin. Let's just say waxing wasn't that fun. Plus I have super sensitive skin so I had to be really careful who waxed my face. I tried it at home and was broke out for a week. I have come to terms with having this, and if you want more information just google PCOS.

For this look I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Fairy Teal and Finger Paints Art you Wondering?
Two coats of Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Fairy Teal, one coat of  Finger Paints Art you wondering? On my ring finger I free handed a ribbon in Fairy Teal, and I then topped it with Seche Vite. (which I only used when I am using glitter.)
 Look 3:

This picture doesn't do this polish justice. I love this color-- Orly Mysterious Curse from the Dark Shadows collection from the summer. I wanted until the fall to wear this color. This is a polish that can be wore for the fall and winter. In some lights it looks navy blue, some dark purple, and I even caught it looking black.

two coats of Mysterious Curse. top coat Sally Hansen Maximum Growth Plus Top Coat. (it's says it quick drying, but I haven't had a chance to use it enough to tell you)

swatch
 Look 4
As you all know I posted at the beginning of the week and in my haul that Ulta was having BOGO on butter London polish. I mention in an earlier post that I would never buy a bL polish unless I found them on sale. I couldn't have asked for a better deal,  well now there is a promo going around on getting four polishes for 11  dollars, but by the time I could order it would be over.  This is what I currently have on my nails, and I have had it on all week.
The two colors I got I can wear all year long. But this color is perfect for fall. This is Queen Vic. I did not use any top coat. (shocker, I know) The reason was I really wanted to see the staying power of bL without any top coat. I do this with all the new brands that I buy when I used them for the first time.
two coats of Queen Vic with no top coat.
Now here is a cool pic that I wanted to share with you.

This is for the outside of the container that I keep my polishes in. I thought it just looked cool and wanted to share.

Rue's Week of Looks (Last week of Summer).

Sorry I did not get this posted on Friday, but my cousin had a football game and I did not have time to post anything on Friday. I was off last weekend so I have a few more looks than I normally do.

Look 1:
My first attempt of water marbling. (I will be doing a tutorial on it soon, still practicing). Since this was my first time doing it, I only used it as an accent nail. The main color is Revlon Colorstay in Rich Raspberry. (I have wanted this color all summer long and finally bought it. I found Revlon stuff on sale.) This color will also be a great fall color as well. With the water marble I used Rich Raspberry along with China Glaze For Audrey and Finger Paints Flip Flop Fuchsia on top of a white base coat. I used Spoiled by Wet n Wild Correction Tape.

Left

right hand

all polishes used with swatches.
 Look 2:
This look here I painted my nails with Spolied by Wet n Wild Correction Tape (white) first, and then I took and angled crayola brush (I think I got it in the kid painting section of wal-mart) and sponged China Glaze's First Mate on. I loved the look.
Spoiled by Wet n Wild Correction Tape and China Glaze First Mate on top.
 Third Look:
This Look I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme in Mint Sorbet. I topped it with Cover Girls Boundless Color in Gold Rush (gold glitter)( I believe this is discontinued I bought it at Big Lots and it was on clearance there for 50 cents). Then for a little more shimmer on my accent nail I put a chunkier gold glitter from Sally's nail polish line Sally Girl.
Two coats of Mint Sorbet with a coat of Gold Rush and on ring finger a coat of Sally' Girl gold glitter.

Swatches
 Look 4:
Here is another attempt with water marbling. This time I tried going my whole hand. Most of them looked like I just striped this, but I didn't. I did try going two fingers at a time. I think until I get use to it, I will stick with one at a time. Also I taped both hands at the same time. I think next time I will use tape one finger at a time.
In this water marble I used the following colors. First the base coat was Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Timeless White
Yellow--Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lightening
Green-- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Limestone
Pink-- Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Love Rocks
Purple-- Wet n Wild Megalast On a Trip.

Right hand--- Favorite two nails on this hand is my thumb and pointer fingers

Left hand--- Favorite nails my pointer(which doesn't look like it had any purple, but it did and my middle finger).

polishes used.
