Recovering Nail Polish Addict.

As most of you all who have been reading Rue's World from the beginning knows that this blog started out of my love for Nail Polish. Now, back last year, I noticed that my nail polish collection got way out of hand. I was nearing 400 to 500 nail polishes. Most of my polishes were being neglected, so I decided to go through my collection, and throw out the really old ones, and then let my cousin and aunt go through it to see what they wanted. I did this twice last year along.

In the past two weeks, I went through my entire collection again, and got rid of another round of polishes. I am unsure of how many polishes are remaining in my collection, but I have cut it down by at least half if not more.

I remember at a time, I was buying anywhere to 5 to 15 polishes every two weeks (PAY DAY!), but now I go months without buying a polish. I hardly ever have the time to paint my nails now. I would eventually want to have a nail polish collection of 20 to 50.

This is why Rue's World is having a makeover. I am not really into Nail Polish anymore or even Beauty really. Along with the nail polish, I Have also gotten rid of a lot of my makeup. I wear makeup maybe ten times a year, why did I need as much as I had. There may be a few beauty and nail polish related post on here, but it's many going to be more about my life, and a lot of planner blog posts.

I also have a book blog, and check it out at http://ruesbookworld.blogspot.com/. I post Monthly on what I read for the month, and I will be doing some reviews on it as well.

Plan With Me for Week of July 13th thru July 19th (ECPL)

Last week, I gave you a look into the first two weeks of planning in my Erin Condren for the first two weeks of July. I will link that post at the end of the post. Today's post, I will show you my weekly layout for the week of July 13th. Also I will show you how last week's looked like after the week was over.

Here is last week's layout.
As you can see, the later half of the week is fuller than the first of the week. This is because I typically do all of my stuff on the later of the week cause I have Thursdays and Sundays off. The first part of the week, I am usually busy with work stuff, and don't really do anything.

Here is what this week looked like before planning.

Now this is completely blank. I tend to do a bit of pre-planning. I add if there are any bills due for the week at the first of the month typically cause they do not change. Also if anything is due at the library I will put it in there as well. Any events that happen to be going on I will either put it in pencil or put a post it note with what's going on. Towards the end of the week, I will start planning my to-do list of the next week, so I put it on a post it note as well. The post-it notes that I used here was the post-it brand where the back is completely sticky.

I typically plan Sunday night. As you can see I do put that I plan on Sunday. When I start my planning, I pull out what washi tape that I want to use for that week and stickers that I plan to decorate with. Then I will pull out all my color coding dotes and stickers (you can get these at Office Depot, Hobby Lobby, Wal-Mart, and most dollar stores. After I have all, I will white out the words at the bottom of the page where I put my washi. Why? I have notice that most of my washi the words show through, and I think it looks neater. At the left hand corner where I put my to-do list, I write out the words there as well.

Here is what this week's layout looks like.

I decided to go with a Red, White, and Blue color them again this week. I had this washi that I did not get to use for my fourth layout, so I decided to coordinate the layout colors with what EC had used.
Washi--Wal-Mart
Stickers-- Michael's (Unsure whether it's still available).
Small color coding dotes--brighter ones (pink and yellow) Hobby Lobby brand Avery; darker ones (blue and red) Office Depot- store brand
Yellow and Pink large color coding dotes-- Dollar Tree
Square Color Coding-- Wal-Mart--Avery brand
I did use my label maker this week to make the label for TO DO. I also used some white labels I had to indicate my days off. I am unsure where I got these, but you can get plan white labels pretty much every where that sell office supplies. I also used my Paper Mate Flair Pens, which are currently my favorite brand of pens to use in my ECPL.
At the top, I always put the week's forecast which I use the Weather Channel app from my phone for it.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and I will hopefully see you all here next week with a New Plan With me.

A look into my Erin Condren Life Planner (first two weeks of July).

Back in February, I introduced Rue's World to my Erin Condren Life Planner (ECPL). This planner is my life and my baby. I put everything in her. I am currently saving up to purchase another one for 2016, which I will not due until later in November. This post I should you the layout of the planner. http://ruesworld52.blogspot.com/2015/02/erin-condren-life-planner.html I have been meaning to start doing weekly plan with me blogs, where I should you how I plan and decorate my planner for the week, but work, school, and life just got in the way. I do plan on showing you my favorite weekly spreads that I have done since I started decorating my pages. Hopefully I will be able to do these either weekly or bi-weekly. I don't know how I will end up doing these.

Side note: I own the 2014-2015 life planner. Back during the middle of the month of June, Erin Condren did release her new 2015-2016 planners, which she now has two versions for you to pick from. Since I have not purchased my new one yet, I cannot talk about either planner yet, but if you search YouTube for it, many reviews are up.

This is the monthly spread that starts out each month in the ECPL. Since July 4 is Independence day and the ECPL went with a Red, White, and Blue theme, I did as well. I covered the last days of June and the beginning of August with this Red Glitter Washi tape that I purchased at Wal-Mart during Christmas time, but I did notice that they did have some that was a little bit different with the 4th of July stuff. I am unsure if they still have. The heart stickers I have randomly placed came from Michaels a few months ago. I am unsure whether or not they would still have it. Then the stars are from Dollar Tree.

I use the month spread for a quick look at what's coming up. I put my pay day, and use my color coding dots to put when anything is due. On the side of the monthly page, at the every top I put my goals for the month, and then below the goals I put anything that may be happening during that month.

WEEK OF JUNE 29th

This week had more stickers and washi since it was a Holiday week. The Glitter washi, stars, and stickers are the same ones used in the monthly spread. The red and white star washi came from the Dollar Tree last year. On the side of the page, I use it for my to do list for the week. I did not have one this week, but I don't know why.

Now here is how I set my planner up on a weekly basis.
At the very top where the date is, I put the forcasted temperature and weather. Then in the morning box, I use my color coding dots for Lily, which I take her to day care most mornings, and then a dark blue sticker which is for work and the time I go to work. The color coding dots, I got the brighter colors from Hobby Lobby and the more primary colors from Office Depot. In the Day box is where I put any bills, book finished, and if anything is happening during the day. Sometimes if I need a to do list for the day I will put it in the day box. Also the big circle sticker in the day box is a reminder for me to clean my tragus piercing every day and night.  In the night box there is another circle dot that is a reminder for me to set the coffee up and my lunch for the next day. These are not color coded, I just usually pick a color for that week. These are from the Dollar Tree, but you can find them anywhere. I do use the blank stickers from the ECPL to show when my days are off, this week I had Thursday and Sunday off. You see a few square stickers that are in a few places. The yellow box one is for my reading page count of the week. Since yellow is the color for book related stuff, I chose yellow for it. There are two on Sunday. These are for my planning and to take out the trash reminder. I do not have a specific color for these. I got these from Wal-Mart.

Now this is what a typical week for me looks like. I tend to only do washi at the bottom leaving the very bottom open, and very little stickers. The planning layout did not change at all. The washi is from Wal-Mart. Also I did not mention this above, but I do white out the words that are along the bottom of the page, but I am happy to announce that in the 2015-2016 ECPL, they are no longer there.

I use the Paper Mate Flair pens to write in my planner. I do color code my pens to a certain point, but I also will pick an accent color for the week, and use it for my to-dos, and any journaling I do in my planner.

I plan on doing a spread post on my color coding systems and my favorite and not so favorite pens to use on my planner.
