Old v. New (Old Collection.)

I just moved my makeup from my bathroom, which I found out that was bad for your makeup. So I moved them into my desk in my room that wasn't really being used. (I plan on putting up pictures later.)

This will be a two part blog.

When I was doing my makeup before, my focus point was my eyes, so I had more eye products than anything. I still have more eye stuff, but I have more of face and lip products as well. Also I really do not like wearing lipstick because I love the color of my natural lips, so a lot of time, even now I will get a gloss and wear and forget the lipstick. I also think lipstick looks funny on me.

I heart Bare Minerals.

So my cousin and I share makeup a lot. (I know it’s bad, but we do it anyways. We don’t share eyeliners or massacres) We have similar skin types, and it she has something I have been waiting to try she will let me use it, and vice versa. Also we review items for each other.

She has been using Bare Minerals for a while now, and I am tried of my face routine, so I went to her to use Bare Minerals (which somethings she has had for a year or two). I absolutely love it. I am going to save up for it, and go buy it. It will be the first thing of makeup that I will but that is over 10 bucks. I might wait till the beginning of the year since I have a lot of birthdays and then the holidays coming up, but it will be in my make up collection.

Making the Move

I started this blog a little over two weeks ago. I started it in tumblr because I knew how to use it, but then I discovered blog spot, so I moved it here. I think this is a better platform for this type a blog than tumblr. This is also why there were several post within minutes of each other. Also I am getting use to the format of blog spot so be patience as I try and figure things out.

First Designer Handbag.

Two weeks ago, I bought my first designer handbag, but I did not pay designer prices for it. I bought a Chanel bag (not sure name of the bag), and no it’s not a knock off. It was at a sale(almost like a huge yard sale). It was for a church and this church has people that are well off and have a new bag for every outfit, which they donate to the church to sale. The bag was originally priced at the sale for 25 bucks, and when I bought it they had priced everything half off so I got the bag for 12.50. I have been waiting a designer bag for a while, but did not want to spend the money on one.

Also I bought a Vera Bradley diaper bag (run about 60 bucks got for 12.50). Yes, it’s a diaper bag, but I am using it for a laptop\duffel bag.

I am Cheap.

In the last two blogs you can tell that I am kind of a cheapskate when it comes to fashion and beauty. I shop at discount stores a lot for make up. Thrift stores for clothes and handbags. I will also by knock offs. I really don’t see why spent that much money for something when it could be used for other things.

Sad Day.

Within a couple of days of each other my two favorite pairs of sunglasses got broken. I am notorious for buying cheap sunglasses, and then breaking them in a month or two. These sunglasses I had had for a while. The first pair was my aviators that I bought at Wal-mart (well I actually bought both pairs at Wal-mart), and cost 5 bucks, but I had looked for a pair of them that looked right on my face, and these did. They got bent and I was trying to fix them, and broke them.

Then a couple of days later, my OP’s (shape like Wayfarers) in a redish purple got broken. I paid 5 bucks for them, and had had them for a couple of years(the longest I had ever had a pair of sunglasses). They were in my car seat, actually I think they were in my purse and they fell out then my cousin set on them and broke them. Everyone hated them, but I LOVED them. They have been replaced with a black pair (one dollar at the dollar tree—and going back Friday for the white pair.) I really like the shape of these and how they look on my face.

Bargain Shopper.

When shopping for make up, I will look for a bargain. I do not like spending a whole lot for make up, especially since I am still learning to apply. I do not think that I have ever spent more than 10 dollars on make up. I only shop at Wal-mart, Walgreens, Big Lots, the dollar stores, and places like that. I do not buy make up that is considered high end. (I might some time later, but right now I don’t see a point or want to.)

A Beauty Revolution.

This past summer while looking for a job, I started watching several different YouTube channels that dealt with Beauty. I had never been a person who wore makeup everyday, hair was always in a pony tail, and nails where never really polished.

Make-up, I only owned very little: eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, foundation powder, mascara, and lip gloss\balm. I applied the makeup with the utensils that came with it. I did own a couple of brushes, but they were cheap (come in a cheap makeup kit that come out during Christmas time in Wal-mart). Today, I am building my makeup collection. You could say I am kind of obsessed with makeup right now. I still don’t wear makeup everyday, but I wear it more often than I did before. (I right now don’t see the point to put on my makeup when I am not going anywhere or just running to town for groceries. Also since I work the weekends, and I get home about 11 and have to drive a little bit to get to work and be there by 7(then work a 15 hour day) , I cannot get myself up any earlier. I have been at my job for two months now, and gotten paid four times, with each time I am spending some of my check on makeup. The first pay check I went kind of overboard cause I had seen things on YouTube that I wanted to try.

Nails, I have always liked to paint my nails, but never really did cause people from where I come from don’t. I really like dark nail polishes on my nails. Most of the ligther ones I just don’t like the way they look on my fingers. I am currently wearing a dark brown, and I love that dark colors are in for the fall. I am needing to paint them cause they get really bad chipped at work, and they are chipping bad. If you all have any suggestions on how to keep nails from chipping really bad let me know. I have tried about everything, but suggestions will help. Next color will be dark red or orange.

I am going to try and post my beauty revolution on here. I don’t believe you have to wear make up or stuff to make you look pretty. I am one who will go natural as possible, but I sometimes like to wear makeup. I am going to try new things, like using blush and a highlighter, liquid eyeliner, bronzer, and a foundation primer. I will blog about my experience. Also I am thinking about putting some reviews of things that I have tried and loved or tried and hated (not sure about this yet or not).
Join me in my beauty revolution.
